Things I’ll Miss

It won’t be long before Saratoga will come to a close. Aside from the usual stuff like fuller fields, more challenging handicapping and more “big day” cards, this year presented a new thing to miss when it’s gone.

Exacta-mundo has been rehomed from Tumblr in hopes of facilitating slightly more posting in 2014. Please don’t get your hopes up! But please do make note of the new url.

Fun with Names: Twitter Edition

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been enjoying the names of a few of this evening’s winners. Mr Num Num (Northern Afleet – Missy Monarch) wins an allowance at Hawthorne. http://t.co/cZT1D7B7OF — BH Race Results (@BH_RaceResults) November 23, 2013 Twitter Pie wins an allowance optional claiming at Golden Gate Fields. http://t.co/LJaBHney7j — BH Race Results (@BH_RaceResults) November 23, 2013…

Breeders’ Cup Positive Trends

It’s not all doom and gloom around here you know. I’m not ALWAYS being mean (or condescending!). In fact, despite not getting my winning exacta in in the Classic I’m in a good mood. Count me as one of the people who found this year’s Breeders’ Cup to be highly enjoyable despite a few unfortunate turns of events. So, here…

In an email conversation earlier today (email is the new Twitter), I evoked the blogging scene of 2008, citing the current lack of independent voices who feel free to call out industry players and entities. 2013 Kentucky Derby Race Sequence

2013 Kentucky Derby Race Sequence Experience an interactive turn-by-turn slideshow of the 2013 Kentucky Derby. Here’s something I don’t get a chance to say too often, especially about anything web-related for horse racing… this interactive by Blood-Horse is very well done! If you haven’t already spend some time with it (i.e., obsessed over your picks trips), I highly recommend it.

Fug the Santa Anita Derby!

I love the @fuggirls. If you like fashion and making fun of things (or even just making fun things) then the @fuggirls are for you. Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan have turned their sharp, and often acerbic wit into a media empire by skewering the bounty of stupid celebrity fashion. Their tagline “Fugly is the new Pretty” sums up their…

And if it does work…

After getting a chance to play with a Surface tablet at work today Another day at the office http://t.co/3cwLi4WMNa — dana-byerly.html (@superterrific) March 21, 2013 I thought a little more about something else I tweeted today. Will the land of bus tours and beauty queens ever do such a thing? Doubt it. http://t.co/oJjhN3pM7V — dana-byerly.html (@superterrific) March 21, 2013 Namely,…

Not that this would be an issue for me

All day it’s been impossible to see the win price because the result board is showing part of the American Flag where the numbers should be — Jerry Bossert (@JBossertNYDN) March 20, 2013
